Miniature Scenes With A Darkly Satirical Twist by Frank Kunert
German photographer Frank Kunert builds miniature scenes that seem to be mundane depictionsof everyday life in urban settings. A closer look reveals strange satirical twists: balconies with no doors to the inside, stairwells that don't reach, a children's slide that leads straight onto a busy highway.
Kunert spends what is often months setting up his models with attention to detail and appearance of reality. When he feels he has created a perfect small world, and no sooner, he photographs with scene. His photographs have an on-purpose analog feel; he does not use digital manipulation of any kind.
