Seinfeld in Impressionist Oil

This discovery of the series of Seinfeld oils led me to read more about Brooklyn artist Morgan Bair.  Although the series has been a crowd favorite, she mostly paints abstracted scenes - often in large formats and murals - stemming from pop culture. In interviews of her, you will enjoy her sense of humor, her tales of growing up with art, her love of puzzles, cats, and Seinfeld. Her love of puzzles extended to a series of limited edition artist - and very abstract - puzzles...with no pictoral reference, each piece unique (see below).  Her inspirations? ....

"My imagery originates in stills from Youtube tutorial videos and Seinfeld episodes, Craigslist photos, photos of class projects from elementary school teacher blogs, and other miscellaneous web junk."

As a break when she felt stuck, she began painting a somewhat impressionistic series from Seinfeld stills in oils. You can many more here. She said she never intended to make so many; one just led to another, a chance to break away from a rut and a bit of fan art, too.

"PUZZLE TIME is an ongoing series of limited edition wooden jigsaw puzzles made by Morgan Blair and featuring the work of select contemporary artists. In keeping with wooden jigsaw puzzle-making tradition, Puzzle Time puzzles are all methodically hand-cut, meaning every piece is unique. Additionally, no picture of the final image is provided with the puzzle, eliminating familiar contexts like orientation, scale and major compositional elements within the artwork and creating instead the need to investigate the disassembled image in new ways, up close and from all angles. "    (Emphasis mine.)
Only Premium Puzzle Solvers could tackle this one, eh?
